There will be 50 notebooks (for now, maybe more, who knows?) walking around the world, passing by, through people. The person that will receive it has just one thing to do: Write a story on it.
There will be 3 simple rules to follow:
Time: you can keep the notebook for maximum 1 week then you have to return it or pass it.
Story: you can write one story, that for you is important or worth, to be read by others.
Language: you could write the story in every language you want, you could add in the logbook a translation in English, so people that doesn’t know your language could be able to read it.
The rest is completely up to you. It doesn’t matter if it is fictional or is it really happened rather than it is something you heard in your youth or someone else told you and you just reminded it.
You can write about any topic, any length, it may contain drawings with crayons, poems, Kanjis, doodles and scribbles, almost any form you believe your story will need as support. The unique limit to your fantasy is that need to be readable (who has a bad handwriting as mine therefore, should go for capital letters).
You can sign your story with your name, full name, a nickname or leave it anonymous; above all our main goal is to spread those stories all around the world in different ways and through different paths.
Who will receive the book is responsible for it and the stories already in it. He will be able to read the stories inside the book therefore also share those stories with people, but in the same forms this project was born for: while having dinner or in a party, maybe during a travel, to unknown people on the bus, sitting on a bench in front of the sea, always heart to heart, eyes to eyes.
It is strictly forbidden to share any of the stories written in the notebook through social or on the internet! Certainly you are welcome to share the page and the links to the project. If you liked the project you can support it and ask for more notebooks and pass them to your friends and colleagues.
The story is given for free and with no claim of rights, the copyright belongs to the owner (if signed). In case of unauthorized copy or plagiarism the writer is the only responsible and writing the story in the notebook he agree to this terms.
Writing the story on the Berlin Notebook automatically grant to us (GeschichtenHaus©, his owner and his collaborators) the right of use it free of charge. That could end up in the creation of books (print and divulgation), performance, installation, theater, recording, videos, films and even more.
What we’ll gain from this first step? We’ll create a network of people interested in share stories all around the world and build a meeting point in space and time,
time and space together, that’s what we are aiming for.
